Despite out-shooting Mound Westonka 39-9 on Saturday this was one close contest as the Northern Stars would edge the White Hawks by a score of 2-1.

Izzy Sutherland would put the Stars in front 1-0 in the second period when she scored at 6:55 with an assist to Ella Ierino. The White Hawks tied the contest four minutes later, but the Stars answered back with only 21 seconds remaining in the second period when Ierino scored the game winning goal.

Brionna Stafne and Olivia Opsahl assisted on the game winning goal. Kalei Kleive was the winning goaltender as she stopped 8 shots in the victory….
