LSC Announces All-Conference Alpine Ski Team

The Lake Superior Conference has announced its all-conference selections for the Alpine ski season for 2010-2011. Both the boys and girls first and second teams are represented well by the Cloquet-Esko-Carlton ski team as well as the Hermantown-Proctor ski team.


Alex DeRocher from CEC along with Hermantown-Proctor’s Hans Eggert and Dan Padden were named to the first team all conference. Joining them were a trio of Duluth Central skiers, Alex and Brian Carlberg, and Reece Townsend.


Second team members named all conference were Anthony Schrier and Travis Bartlett from CEC, and Hermantown-Proctor’s Brendan Viaene and Joel Sipper. Duluth Central skiers Ryan Puttkammer and Kurt Berndt were also named to the second team all conference.


The girl’s first team all conference included Kelsey and Tori Anderson from CEC, and Olivia Tusa and Megan Danelski form Hermantown-Proctor. Duluth Marshal placed two skiers on the first team all-conference team and they were Mallory Towle and Dominique Caya.


The girl’s second team featured three CEC skiers including Paige Tranah, Carly Boder, and Kaitlyn Knutson. Kendall Bergerson and Trudy Sundquist from Duluth Marshall and Nicole Wrazidlo from Duluth Central were also named to the second team.


The 2010-2011 Alpine season is rapidly coming to a close with only a few scheduled meets left on the ski season. The section meet is February 8th at Giants Ridge in Biwabik Minnesota. The state meet is held one week later on February 16th also at Giants Ridge.
