Eric Gotz scored a power-play goal at 1:27 of overtime, with assists from Nate Pionk and Ryan Kero, to lift second-ranked Hermantown to a 4-3 victory over Roseville in a nonconference high school game Saturday night at Beautiful Hermantown Arena.

The Hawks (1-1-0) led 3-0 after two periods on goals by Matt Valure, Pionk and Gotz. But Roseville scored on each of its three shots in the third period to force overtime.

Hermantown out-shot Roseville (0-2-0) 55-16.

Pionk, UMDHockey.com’s Preseason Player of the Year, also had two assists.

Luke Olson had 20 stops for the Hawks.

Hermantown, which lost its season-opener at third-ranked Wayzata, 4-3, Friday night, will play host to Cloquet-Esko-Carlton (2-1-0) in a Lake Superior Conference game at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Beautiful Hermantown Arena.
