NSO – NEWS RELEASE

The University of Minnesota Duluth will open Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play on Saturday when the Bulldogs travel to St. Cloud State University to take on the Huskies in an afternoon tilt.

UMD (2-2) will look to build off a dominant victory over Northwest Missouri State University last time out as they dive headfirst into NSIC action with a key rivalry game.

• Senior guard Danielle Flood leads the Bulldogs, averaging 10.8 points per game in 2014. She’s scored most of her points at the free throw line, drawing 22 chances for an 86.4 percentage on the season after leading the nation in free throw shooting a season ago. UMD has averaged 23 trips to the free-throw line this season, a key part of their offense, and in last Friday’s stiff 81-50 defeat at the hands of No. 24 Pittsburg State University, the Bulldogs got to the line just eight times for six points.
