White Bear Shuts out Jacks

The Cloquet-Esko-Carlton girls hockey team dropped their second consecutive game to start the season Tuesday night as the Lumberjacks fell to the Bears of White Bear Lake by a score of 7-0 in White Bear Lake at the Vadnais Sports Center.

The Bears started fast Tuesday night scoring three goals in the first period and added two more goals in each of the second and the third periods while the Bears out-shot the Lumberjacks by a 29-9 margin.

Sarah Moy scored twice for the Bears in the shutout victory as the Bears improved to 1-0 on the season, the Lumberjacks fell to 0-2 and will look to pick up their first win of the season Friday night when they will host Orono.

Mae Morris stopped all 9 shots she faced in the victory for White Bear Lake, while Sydney Heitala stopped 22 of the 29 shots on goal she faced in the loss. The Lumberjacks were 0-3 on the power play Tuesday night.
