Northland Sports Online holiday boys and girls hockey tournament recap for Tuesday Dec 28.

Boys

Hermantown 9 Crookston 4

Andrew Mattson recorded the hat trick in the second period alone as the Hawks knock off Crookston in the Ralph Engelstad Hockey Classic in Thief River Falls. Mattson finished with four points on the night for the undefeated Hermantown Hawks.

Superior 3 Proctor 0

Scott Crawford recorded 20 saves as he shuts out the Rails in the semi-finals of the Hilltopper Holiday Classic on Tuesday. Proctor will face Madison Edgewood in the third place game today.

Moose Lake Area 8 St. Paul Saints 6

Josh Cisar scored the hat trick and assisted on one other goal as the Rebels defeated the Saints in the Silver Bay Holiday Tournament. Tyler Cisar added two goals and an assist in the win as well for the Rebels.

GIRLS

Eden Prairie 4 CEC 1

The Eagles out shot CEC 31-19 as the host Eagles advance in their own Holiday Tournament. Emily Gustafson scored the first goal of the game for CEC but it was all Eagles after that.

Henry Sibley 4 Moose Lake Area 2

Henry Sibley jumped out to a 3-1 lead after two periods and hung on to win by two goals in the Schwann Cup Holiday Tournament. The loss places the Rebels in the third place game Wednesday against Milwaukee University.

P-M-H 3 Owatonna 2

Nicole Matthews scored one goal and assisted on another as the Rails defeated the Huskies in the opening round of the Burnsville Holiday Tournament. The Rails will face Bloomington Jefferson at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon.
