Hawks Shut out Rails

Kianna Hren and Britta Savre each scored Monday night as the Hermantown Hawks shut out the the Proctor Rails by a score of 2-0 in a Lake Superior Conference match up at Corey Veech Field in Hermantown.

Hren scored at the 37th minute of the first half to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead, Madison Danelski assisted on the Hren goal.

The Hawks took a 2-0 lead in the second half when Savre put a shot past Madison Baker to make it a two goal advantage and that is how the game would in as the Hawks picked up their 10th consecutive victory and remain unbeaten in their last 11 matches.

Delaney Vavra stopped seven shots in the shutout victory for the Hawks, and Madison Baker finished with 8 saves in the loss for the Rails Monday night.

The Hawks improve to 11-1-1 overall and they will be back in action Wednesday night when they host the Greyhounds of Duluth East at Corey Veech Field.
