Four Saints Earn UMAC Awards

ST. PAUL (csssaints.com) – The College of St. Scholastica had four athletes named Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Players of the Week; it was announced on Tuesday.

Kortney  MorrinKortney Morrin (Grantsburg, Wis./Grantsburg HS (Northern State)) was named the UMAC Volleyball Offense Player of the Week for the second time this season. Morrin recorded double-doubles in both conference road wins over the weekend. Morrin had 10 kills, 13 digs and four blocks in Friday’s win at Martin Luther. On Saturday, she had 11 kills and 14 digs in Saturday’s win at Bethany Lutheran.

Andrew  SmithAndrew Smith (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) was named the UMAC Football Special Teams Player of the Week. In Saturday’s victory over Crown, Smith recorded 93 punt return yards, which is the second-most in program history. One of his punt returns went 59 yards for a touchdown.

Andrew  JenkinsAndrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) was named the UMAC Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Jenkins became the program’s career scoring leader in Tuesday’s victory at Northland. He recorded three goals and an assist in the win. Over the weekend, he netted two goals and an assist in both the win at North Central on Friday and at Northwestern on Saturday.

Jalyn  BrittonJalyn Britton (Eagan, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) was named the UMAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Britton recorded at two points in all three wins last week. On Tuesday at Northland, she had a goal and an assist. On Friday at North Central she registered two assists. Then on Saturday at Northwestern she recorded two goals.
