MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men’s soccer team had two players record hat tricks as it continued its high scoring dominance in a 13-0 win over North Central College on Friday afternoon.

The Saints scored four goals in the first half with the first one coming from Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) at the 15 minute mark. A little later, Kyle Farrar (Sevenoaks, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) would score two goals in less than five minutes to quickly make it 3-0. Shawayne Folkes (Toronto, Ontario/Maxwell Heights) finished off the scoring for the half just a couple minutes before halftime to give the Saints a 4-0 lead going into the second half.

The scoring would not slow down in the second half as Jonny Winter (Healthfield, England/Healthfield Community College) scored four and half minutes into the half. Not even 30 seconds later, Farrer would score his third goal of the game to give Scholastica a 5-0 lead. Five minutes later, Folkes would add another goal for CSS. After a few minutes of quiet play, the Saints offense would get going again as Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) and Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) would score just a couple minutes apart to make it 9-0.

There would be another pause in the scoring until the Saints would score their last four goals in a matter of seven and a half minutes. Folkes started it off at the 72 minute mark as he completed his own hat trick for the game. A minute later, Charlie Crane (Southampton, England/Brockenhurst College) would score his first career goal as a Saint. After Jenkins would score his second goal of the game, Joey Benz (Zimmerman, Minn./Elk River HS) would finish off the scoring with his first career goal to make the final score 13-0.

Goalkeeper Jacob Ballheimer (Gerrards Cross, England/Chalfonts Community College) had a quiet afternoon in net, only needing to record one save to get the win and the shutout for the Saints. Evan Hartwig had 12 saves for the Rams.

The Saints will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on the Eagles of the University of Northwestern in UMAC play. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. in St. Paul.
