Panthers over Rebels 3-0

CULVER, Minn—The South Ridge Panthers improved their record to 2-1 by defeating the Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels last night 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-20) at South Ridge.

The Panthers were led by Senior Justice Janke with 9 kills and 11 digs. Junior Krystal Karppinen added 7 kills and 9 digs, and Junior Mallory Thibault ended the night with 6 kills.  Sophomore Marriah Janke had a great night serving and earned 6 ace serves.  Senior Setter Mikayla Olesiak had 21 set assists on the night.

The Rebels were let by Senior Adri Jusczak with 8 kills, and Senior Karina Cisaradded added  5 kills, 6 digs, and 3 ace serves. Setter Lauren Ross had 18 set assists.

The Rebels fall to 2-1 (With prior wins over Hinckley-Finlayson and Proctor) and will play Saturday in the Pine City Invitational.

The Panthers travel to Floodwood on Monday night to take on the Polar Bears. Game time is 7:00 PM.

Floodwood is currently 1-1 with a win over McGregor and a loss to Nashwauk-Keewatin. Both of the Polar Bears games have went to 5 games.
