DULUTH – Rachel Diers and Cassandra Trandahl scored just 7 and 15 minutes into the Section 7a section finals for Chisago Lakes to put Esko-Carlton into a hole that proved a bit too much to dig out of. The Wildcats captured the section title and a trip to the state tournament with a 3-1 victory over the Eskomos.

Savannah Schramm scored 7:05 into the second half and Rachel Ofstie made a huge point blank save two minutes later to give the Eskomos hope. Good pressure from the Eskomos failed to produce the game tying score and with 15 minutes left in the game Diers scored her second goal of the game to seal the victory for Chisago Lakes.

Esko-Carlton finishes the successful 2010 season with a 10-7-1 record and their second straight trip to the section finals. With a core of underclassmen and only losing five seniors to graduation the future looks bright for the Eskomos.
