WRENSHALL – The Lady Falcons of AlBrook ended their regular season finale much like most of their games this year with a three set sweep of the young Wrens in Wrenshall Monday night. The Falcons won by scores of 25-12, 25-7, 25-11.

AlBrook was led by junior Danielle Jakubek’s 12 ace serves. Junior Kourtney Karppinen and eighth grader Justice Janke combined for 19 kills.

Coach Denise North Wrenshall squad scrapped and held early leads in both the 1st and 3rd sets as lone Senior Helen Jurek and Junior Maria Burcar held their own at the net against AlBrook. However the Falcons were just too much this evening as they head into the Section 7A playoffs next week.

Coach Brad Olesiak anticipates a high seed, as his Lady Falcons finish with one of the best volleyball seasons in the school’s history at 15-5. AlBrook will begin a cooperative program for the 2011 volleyball season as they combine with conference rival Cotton and open a new school in Alborn.

The Wrens look for their first win of the season Tuesday night as they host Hill City and begin Subsection 2 play next week.
