Lumberjacks Sweep Pair in Boys Baseball

The Cloquet Lumberjacks swept a pair of high school baseball games on Tuesday by defeating both Esko and Superior.

Cloquet downed Esko 17-11 behind the strong hitting performance of Nathanial O’Hara who smashed out three hits, including a home run and a double, to go along with four RBI’s. 

The winning pitcher was Brandon Conklin who pitched two scoreless innings and gave up just one hit.  Aaron Olson led the Eskomos with a pair of home runs and six runs batted in.

In their other game the Jacks defeated Superior 7-4 as Jeremy Bushey registered the win on the mound with three innings of four-hit ball, while fanning five Spartan batters.  Jeff Sarkela had two RBI’s for Cloquet and Matt Strum add two hits.
