A big night for Max Reinertson turned out to be a big night for the Esko football team as the Eskomos rolled to a 27-6 victory over the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers on Friday night.

Reinertson opened the scoring for the Eskomos with a four-yard touchdown scamper and Jake Stainbrook added the extra point kick giving Esko a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

Marshall bounced back in the second quarter with their only score when David Grannis bulled his way into the end zone from the one-yard line in the second quarter, but that would be the only score of the game for the Hilltoppers.

Esko added another score before halftime when Dain Brademan caught a 12-yard touchdown pass from Reinertson to make it 14-6 after Stainbrook’s extra point kick.

Reinertson found Ryan Guthrie for a 14-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter and then hooked up with Mark Savage for a 30-yard touchdown pass and catch in the final quarter to complete the scoring.

In all Reinertson went 13-of-19 passing and finished with 152 yards through the air along with three touchdowns. Not only was Reinertson strong in the passing game, but he also added 94 yards rushing in just 14 attempts for the Eskomos who are now 3-1 on the season.
