BARNUM-Upon entering Wednesday’s game against the Barnum Bombers, Silver Bay came in as winners in five of their last six games. Meanwhile, the Bombers were victorious in only one of their last six, dropping their last five consecutively. All season long Barnum has had issues with giving up or letting the other team have one big inning.
That happened again Wednesday when the Mariners beat them 10-3.

The Mariners jumped out front in the first inning by taking a 2-0 lead. Barnum answered back in the bottom of the first by adding a run of their own to cut the lead to 2-1. Silver Bay added 3 more runs in the top of the second, while the Bombers fought back in the bottom of the inning with two of their own to trail 5-3 after two innings.

The Mariners big blow to the Bombers would come in the top of the sixth inning when the Mariners scored 4 runs on two hits. There were also four walks given up in the inning. The bases on balls continued to plague the Bombers as they walked twelve Mariners on the afternoon. The walks and only five Silver Bay hits proved too much for Barnum to overcome.

Josh Hogan was the lone bright spot with a single driving in two runs in the second inning. The Bombers close out the regular season with a 4-15 record overall. The Mariners improve to 7-7 overall.
