Panthers take down Agates

The South Ridge Panthers knocked off the Two Harbors Agates in a non conference match-up by a score of 85-54 Monday night at South Ridge High School in Culver.

The Agates and the Panthers battled tooth and nail in the first half as the game was tied 33-33 at the break but the second half saw the Panthers explode for 52 points en route to the 31 point victory at home.

It was a balanced scoring attack for the Panthers they finished with four players in double figures. Drew Janke finished with 19 points to lead South Ridge and Bill Redding added 17 right behind him while both players connected with three 3-pointers on the night.

Rounding out the Panther scoring was Dominic Janke with 16, Kody Karppinen with 13, Colton Peterson added 9, Scott Sowers added 4, Chris Stoddard ended with 3, and it was Spencer and Jerome Otis both closing with 2 points on the night.

The Agates were led by  Alex Lemke with 15 points, Kyler Kinn scored 14, Calvin Luhrsen added 12, Kyle Omtvedt had 5, Tim Bott scored 4, Hunter Pearson added 3, and it was Derek Peters closing the Two Harbors scoring with 1 point.

The Panthers improve to 17-3 and they will host the Northwoods Grizzles on Thursday night at home. The Agates fall to 9-10 on the season and they are home Thursday night when they host Lakeview Christian Academy.
