Lady Jacks Squeak By Hawks

The Cloquet Lady Lumberjacks and Hermantown Hawks squared off Thursday night. It would be the Lady Jacks coming out with the tight 47-46 victory on the evening.

The Lady Jacks got out to a large 33-16 lead at the half, but the Hermantown Hawks would come flying back to outscore the Lady Lumberjacks 30-14 in the second half, but that wouldn’t be enough as Cloquet would hold onto the 47-46 win.

Cloquet was lead by Kassidy Steen who had a team high 14 points, Jaiden Cofield who added 12, and Kaylee McMillen who scored 10. Also scoring in the win was Anna Fossen  with 6, Hazel Erickson scoring 3, and Sammantha Zeadow topping it off with 2.

The Hawks were lead by Shania Bolen who had a game high 15 points. Jordyn Thomas also hit double figures for the Hawks with 13. Emily Neumann scored 6, Mariah Ruhanen and Carly Hansen each had 5, and Kianna Hren rounded it out with 2 points in the loss.

The Lady Lumberjacks improve to 12-5 on the season and will play the North Woods Grizzilies (15-2) on February 7th. The Hawks fall to 11-8 and will look to bounce back against the Chisago Lakes Area Wildcats (13-3) on February 8th at 2:00 PM.
