Huskies Continue To Battle In Second Half

The Duluth Huskies are 12 games into the second half of the season. So far, they have split those 12 games into a 6-6 record, which puts them in 5th place in the North Division, just 3.5 games behind the division leaders, the St. Cloud Rox.

The Huskies placed 4th in the 1st half of the season, recording a 20-16 record. The Huskies will have an upward battle to get into that 1st place position in the second half of the season to make it into the postseason.

With an overall record of 26-22, the Huskies have had 5 players named as mid-season All Stars. Catcher Dominic Miroglio, pitcher Bo Hellquist, pitcher Austin Carpenter, outfielder Cal Stevenson, and infielder Matt McLaughlin were all named All Stars.

Dominic Miroglio is batting .292 with 11 doubles and 20 RBI’s. Cal Stevenson is hitting .305 with 3 triples and 15 RBI’s, while drawing 31 walks and tallying 10 stolen bases. Matt McLaughlin is hitting an impressive .328 with 28 runs scored and 15 RBI’s. On the mound, Bo Hellquist is 5-1 in 44 innings pitched with a 2.86 ERA and 31 strikeouts. Austin Carpenter is 2-1 with 7 saves and a 1.03 ERA in 17.1 innings pitched.

The Huskies have 24 games remaining on the season, with just 7 home games remaining.
