Eskomos Wins 39-35

The Girls state basketball tournament is on the way from Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis, Ashley Bergerson  hit 3 three-pointers in the first half as the Eskomos built up an early first half lead of  16-4 with 8 minutes remaining in the first half.

The Wildcats stormed back as they cut the Eskomos lead to 21-17 at halftime as they were led by Taylor Thunstedt as she connected on three long range bombs to cut the Eskomos lead to 19-17 but Ava Gonsorowski scored on a lay-up with four second remaining in the half to put the Eskomos in front 21-17 at the break.

The second half saw the Eskomos trying to take the air out of the basketball Esko built up a 27-22 lead but it was the Wildcats storming back as they would take a 33-29 lead with 4:30 remaining in the second half. Esko responded right back as Bergerson and Erika Shady hit back to back three-pointers to again give the Eskomos a two point 35-33 lead with 2:04 remaining in the second half.

The Eskomos down the stretch used timely ball control and hit free throws as the Eskomos advance to the state semi-finals on Friday night at the Target Center as the Eskomos will face Kenyon-Wanamingo who defeated Redwood Valley by a score of 64-31.
