Rodd To Retire As Thunder Softball Coach

  After leading the Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College softball team for the past five seasons head coach Kerry Rodd will make this his final season. Rodd told his team prior to a sweep of Vermilion Community College on Thursday of last week and he notified Athletic Director Keith Turner and school President Larry Anderson of his decision to retire at the end of the season following the game.

Holquist Steps Down As UMD Mens Basketball Coach

  Gary Holquist, the University of Minnesota Duluth head men’s basketball coach for the past 14 years, has stepped down from that position to become the new director of development for UMD athletics. In 14 seasons at the head coaching helm, Holquist amassed a 206-197 overall record and earned a pair of NCAA Division II playoff berths , captured one Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season title and two NSIC tournament championships.

  The Barnum High School has lost its third coach this spring as long time volleyball coach Corina Newman turned in her letter or resignation last Thursday, April 19th. Newman joins the list of Barnum coaches needing to be replaced before next season begins. Long time girls basketball coach Randy Myhre retired and football coach Kevin Hayley resigned earlier this spring.
