Bjorn Broman scored a game high 41 points, but it wasn’t enough for Lakeview Christian Academy to overcome the depth and size of the Cloquet Lumberjacks.  Cloquet, led by the 25 points of Adam Laine, muscled their way to a 102-80 win over the Lions in a Friday night game played in Duluth.

The Lumberjacks had too much depth for the Lions to handle as 11 different Jacks scored in a game they led at halftime 52-36.

While Broman hit five 3-point shots, it was the Lumberjacks who proved that they were the better team overall from the arc as Cloquet hit 11 of the long range bombs led by Jake Bushey and Dillon Johnson who each had three from downtown.

Bushey finished with 19 points, Zach Gerlach added 16, it was 14 points for Johnson, Victor Foxx added six, Nate Weets contributed five points, Josh Peterson added four points, Maxx and Mason Brenner each added three points, while Gavin Takkunen and Rand Bieri both finished with two points.

Marc Chiu and Ben Erickson, with 14 and 10 points respectively, also were in double-digit scoring for the Lions.

The Lumberjacks improved to 14-3 on the season, while the Lions dropped to 5-15 for the year.

The Lumberjacks are in action again Saturday night when they take on Duluth East at Ordean High School. The Lions will face Northwoods next Thursday night in Cook.
