Lakeview Christian Academy has had some high scoring games in their recent history and all of them are by a player with the last name Broman. Only this time it isn’t Anders, but instead his younger brother, Bjorn Broman, who is a junior this season and is averaging over 40 points per game this season. He is also on pace to break the all time state assist record set by Ellsworth’s Cody Schilling from  who dished 1,135 assists in his career.

On Monday night, Bjorn and the LCA Lions traveled to play the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers and it would be a memorable night for Bjorn as he would score 65 of the Lions 79 points, but the ending result isn’t what the team had hoped for as they fell 91-79.

Cass Lake-Bena held the large halftime advantage leading 47-29. Lakeview would battle back and outscore the Panthers 50-44 in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough as they would leave with the loss.

Bjorn Broman would lead the Lions with 65 points, which included 8 from deep. He also shot 19/20 from the free throw line and tacked on an impressive 8 steals. Also scoring in the loss was Josh Klun with 6 points, Ben Erickson with 4, and Marc Chiu and Mike Klun with 2 a piece.

Cass Lake-Bena was lead by Josh LaDuke who scored 34 and Damien Kingbird who added 21 points in the victory.

With the loss, the LCA Lions fall to 3-12 on the season and will play the Mesabi East Giants (3-9) on January 14th. Cass Lake-Bena improved their record to 6-3 with the win.
