Rebels Run By Wrens

The Moose Lake Willow River Rebels squared off with the Wrenshall Wrens on Friday Night in a Polar League match-up. The Rebels would come out victorious with the comfortable 85-48 victory.

The Rebels came out running in the first half of the game, taking the large 46-25 lead into halftime. The half wouldn’t slow the Rebels down as they would outscore the Wrens 39-23 in the second half and run away with the 85-48 victory.

The Rebels were lead by Brad Fossum who lead all scorers with 29 points. Charlie Adamczak also had a beautiful night, scoring 19 points in the win. Matt Mach would hit 3 from deep while on his way to scoring 13, Zach Schaumburg pitched in 8, Trenton Autio tallied 6, and Ike Pederson topped it all off with 5 points of his own.

In the loss for Wrenshall, Aaron Adkins had 15 points and Jared Kittel had 14 to lead the way. Jessie Ellerbe added 6 points, Hunter Pauly and Dustin Shelton each scored 5 points, and Marcus Virginia rounded it out with 3 points.

The Rebels improve to 7-5 on the season and will look for another victory when they take on the Cloquet Lumberjacks (10-1) on January 13th. The Wrens fall to 6-5 on the year and will look to bounce back when they travel to play the Northeast Nighthawks (1-9) on January 14th.
