The Fond du Lac high school boys basketball team had been itching to get out on the court as most high school boys teams opened up their regular season last week, FDL waiting until Monday night to unleash their scoring barrage against Wrenshall as the Ogichidaa defeated the Wrens 100-72 in a section contest at Wrenshall High School.

Jordan Diver connected for 31 points and DaVonte Williamson added 30 as FDL opens the season with the huge road win over a strong balanced team Monday night. Diver who started off slow form behind the 3 point line finished with four 3-pointers and several baskets coming off of the Ogichidaa’s pressure defense.

The first half saw a slower tempo for both teams as FDL maintained a lead anywhere from six – twelve points. Fond du Lac went on a late run in the first half right before halftime which game the Ogichidaa a 13 point 45-32 lead at the break. Three 3-points late in the half by Aaron Adkins kept Wrenshall close at the break.

The second half saw the Ogichidaa start fast and use their pressure defense to create fast break opportunities and hot outside shooting saw FDL build a lead at one time was as high as 36 points. Jared Kittle fought hard for Wrenshall as he finished with a very tough 29 points in the loss.
