Proctor-Hermantown wins Dual Swim meet with Denfeld

Proctor-Hermantown won a dual girls swim meet Thursday afternoon with a 116-66 victory over Duluth Denfeld at Lincoln Park Middle Schools Pool.

The meet started with the Rails winning the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 2:03, members of the winning relay team were Sonja Burgalio, Alyssa Aamodt, Nikki Stern, and Taylor Hanson. Next came the 200 yard freestyle and it was Megan Mensinger capturing first place for the Rails.

Nikki Stern took home her second first place finish with a victory in the 200 yard IM Medley for Proctor-Hermantown. Taylor Hanson picked up her second first place finish in the 50 yard freestyle, and it was Giorgi Keppers who won the 100 Butterfly for the Rails. Denfeld won got their first top finish in Diving when it was Shelby Johnson taking home a first place finish for the Hunters.

Stern got her third first place finish in the 100 yard freestyle and Mensinger took her second first this time in the 500 yard freestyle. Keppers, Mensinger, Collins, and Aamodt took a first in the 200 yard freestyle relay. Burgalio won her second event of the meet with a win in the 100 yard backstroke and Aamodt took a first in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The Rails continued to rack up first place finishes as the Rails won the last event of the meet with a victory in the 400 yard freestyle relay. Hanson, Burgalio, Stern, and Mensinger were members of the winning relay team.
