Hawks Rally for win over Proctor

Kerry Rodd-NSO

For one half last night it appeared as if the Proctor Rails boys soccer team might pull off an upset against next-door-neighbor Hermantown.  The Rails led it 1-0 at the intermission, but a huge rally by the Hawks in the second half helped them avoid the upset and pick up a 3-1 victory.

Taylor Ringdahl provided the only goal of the first half, and he gave the Rails a 1-0 lead, when he scored in the 24th minute.

Hermantown bounced back with a goal in the 46th minute by Kori Ochs early in the second half that evened the score at 1-1.  Daniel Hedstrom gave Hermantown the lead for good when he tallied a marker in the 64th minute with an assist to Matt Sandstrom.  Ochs hammered home his second goal of the game in the 69th minute to give the Hawks a 3-1 edge.

Both teams put nine shots on net with Josh Lenard making eight saves for the Hawks and Michael Petoletti finishing with six saves for the Rails.
