Boys And Girls State Golf Tournaments Begin

The Minnesota State Golf tournaments get underway on Tuesday June 11th and finishes on Wednesday June 12th. The participants include 4 teams and 3 medalists that qualified to defend their titles.

For the girls, Detroit Lakes in class AA and New Prague in class AAA return to defend their titles. Legacy Christian Academy of Andover in class A and Detroit Lakes in Class AA are the boys teams trying to repeat.

Individuals trying to repeat are Celia Kuenster of Cretin Durham Hall. She is will attempt to win her 3rd title in class AAA. 9th grader Kate Smith from Detroit Lakes goes for a second crown while Cordell Weber from Martin County West of Sherburn is the only boys champion trying to repeat. He is going for his second title.

The 3 classes are set to compete at 3 different courses. The class A will be held at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker. The class AA tournament will be played at Ridges at Sand creek in Jordan. Class AAA will compete at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids.
