CLOQUET- The Hermantown Hawks were coming off a victory in the Northern Invitational last Friday and Saturday added yet another win to their resume this spring as they took home the Cloquet Invite Trophy on Monday at the Cloquet Country Club.

The Hawks edged out the Cloquet-Esko Lumberjacks by a margin of one stroke Monday. The Hawks finished with a team total of 325, the Lumberjacks were second with a 336. Duluth Marshall finished third with a 349, Superior shot a 355 to finish fourth and Ashland rounded out the top five with a score of 356.

Andrew Krasaway of Hermantown and Nolan Holcombe tied for first place as they each posted a round of 76. Taylor Sundblom of Hermantown was one shot back finishing third with a 77, Drew Matheos of Ashland and Jamie Seidel of Duluth Marshal tied for fourth place overall.

Brett Morrison and Zach Strom of Cloquet-Esko tied for sixth with scores of 82 each. Marc Peterson shot an 84 for the Lumberjacks to finish eighth, Sam Wanta of Marshall was ninth with a 85, and Eric Fryc of Cloquet and Zach Halbe of Ashland tied for tenth with a 88.

Hermantown’s Dylan Kolquist and Dylan Samberg each shot a 91 on Monday afternoon, and it was Parker Simmons who finished with a score of 105 as the Hermantown Hawks continue dominating the local golf meets this spring season.

Cloquet also had several golfers that also competed on Monday and that included Dillon Johnson who finished with a 89, Alex Mackey 90, George Stein 95, Matt Lyden and Jack Pertler both shot 100’s, Clayton Mattson 102, Dylan Doherty 103, Bobby Minogue 106, Colton Voltske 109, Carter Vork 114, and Nick Neve 123.
