The Barnum Bombers boys and girls golf team picked up victories Thursday in a dual meet with Wrenshall at Pine Hill Golf Course in Carlton; it was the second time these two schools have meet in the past two weeks.


It was the second win in a dual meet this year for the Barnum Boys golf team who are playing golf for the first time as a school sport. The girls also picked up their second win of the season in a dual meet Thursday.


In the boys meet, the medalist was Wrenshall’s Pete Granholm with a 39 Thursday. Nate Gunnarson from Barnum was second with a 41, Greyson Lekander and John Zmyslony tied for third with a 43 each.


Other finishers from both teams were Trent Olson from Wrenshall with a 46; Garrett Stavang, and Seth Laveau both of Wrenshall shot 47 each, and it was Barnum’s Mike Klejeski who rounded out the Bombers scoring with a 48.


The Lady Bombers knocked off Wrenshall by a team total of 130-187 Thursday. Barnum’s Jessica Bird and Jamie Bird each shot 29 on the day to capture medalist honors, while Kelsey Timm was third with a 34, and Genna Guillard rounded out the Bombers scoring with a 38.


The Wrenshall Wrens were led by Cassie Grant who shot a 45 on Thursday. Rebecca House also finished with a 45 for the Wrens while Sabrina Cabin finished with a 48, and it was Abbie Menze who shot a 49 for Wrenshall.
