Sophomore Blake Perry (Anoka, Minn./Anoka) tallied two goals and assisted on another as the UW-Superior men’s soccer team scored three times in each half for a 6-0 victory over North Central at NBC Spartan Sports Complex Wednesday.

UWS scored three goals in 11:17 in the first half to get back on the winning track. The ‘Jackets improved to 8-3-2 with the win, remaining perfect in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference at 4-0-0.

Payton Anderson (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing) stopped two NCU shots to earn his first career shutout in his fifth match.

Superior scored in the seventh, 14th and 18th minutes to build the lead. Eric Watson (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Hammarskjold) made it 1-0 with an unassisted tally, his eighth of the season. He is now just one goal from tying Jon Bucklew for the career goal-scoring lead in the history of the program.

Danny Kearns (Greenock, Scotland/Clydeview Academy) doubled the lead at the 14-minute mark on an assist from Perry. The goal was Kearns’ second of the season.

Perry made it 3-0 with his first of the day eighth of the year.

Miguel Ocampo (St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park) made it 4-0 in the 51st minute, Perry scored again in the 66th and Sam Waylee Jr. (Abidjan, Ivory Coast/Morning Glory International School) picked up his second of the season for the final margin. That goal was assisted by Esteban Badillo-Ramirez (Minneapolis, Minn./Fridley) for his first NCAA point.

UWS outshot North Central, 25-2, overall and 18-2 in shots on goal for the match. The ‘Jackets had eight corner kicks to NCU’s three.

The Rams, who used two goalkeepers in the match fell to 2-11-0 overall and 0-4-0 in the UMAC. Isaac Mugisha started, making seven saves in the first half before Tian Elder relieved him for the second, making five more.

UWS returns to action Saturday at Bethany Lutheran. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
