The UW-Superior women’s soccer team received goals from four different players and equaled its highest scoring output of the season in a 4-0 win over North Central at NBC Spartan Sports Complex Wednesday.

UWS remained undefeated in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action, moving to 2-0-0 with the win. It marks the first time in program history – dating to 1993 – the Yellowjackets have started the season with two consecutive wins in conference play. UWS is now 3-7-2 overall.

Superior dominated North Central (0-9-0, 0-4-0), opening the scoring just 3:37 into the contest with a Mackenzie Oehlerking penalty kick for her first collegiate goal.

Tatum Lardinois (Suamico, Wis./Bay Port) made it 2-0 at 29:52 and Emma Street (Oak Grove, Minn./St. Francis) scored 56 second later for a 3-0 advantage.

Claire Smith (Hayward, Wis./Hayward) capped the scoring for the half and the match in the 38th minute, taking a feed Annah Schussman (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) and burying the ball past NCU goalkeeper Ellie Tieszen.

Superior outshot the Rams, 33-5, for the match, including 24-1 in the first half.  UWS had eight corner kicks to five for NCU.

Madison Gutekunst (Mound, Minn./Mound Westonka) and Morgan Philliber (Apple Valley, Minn./Edina) shared time in net, with Philliber making three saves in the second half. Gutekunst made one as the pair combined for the clean sheet.

Tieszen stopped 15 shots for NCU.

The four goals matched the four UWS registered in a 4-1 victory at Alverno on Sept. 8.

The ‘Jackets return to action Saturday at Bethany Lutheran at 3:30 p.m.
