Mirage Survive In Overtime

The first round of the Class A State Tournament saw Proctor/Hermantown Mirage and Rochester Lourdes battle into overtime, with the Mirage escaping with a 3-2 victory.

The Mirage went up 1-0 in the first period on a goal from Aurora Opsahl, but the Eagles would tie it up in the second period, when Clara Billings found the back of the net.

The Mirage recaptured the lead midway through the third period on a goal from Sydney Skorich, but Maggie Hansel tied it up late in the third for the Eagles to send it to overtime.

In overtime, Kaitlyn Fawcett came to the rescue for the Mirage, finding the back of the net at the 1:36 mark to send Proctor/Hermantown to the Class A semifinals.

 

The Mirage (19-7-3) will now face the top seeded Warroad Warriors (27-0-1) on February 22nd with a 1:30pm puck drop. The winner will advance to the Class A Championship, while the loser will play for third place.
