Bemidji Wins Battle of Jacks

Behind 23 points from Lindsey Hildenbrand, the Bemidji High School girls basketball team edged out a 52-46 win over Cloquet at the BHS Gymnasium on Saturday.

Bemidji outscored Cloquet 28-20 after going into the locker room with a 26-24 deficit. Of Hildenbrand’s 23 points, 15 came in the second half to lead the home Lumberjacks to the six-point win.

Mackenzie Nicklason and Rylie Jones were the next leading scorers for BHS, each tallying seven points on the day. Allie Wojtysiak put up a team-high 18 points for Cloquet, while Vanna Kelley joined her in double figures with 11.

The win marks three in a row for Bemidji, which improves to 15-9 on the season. Cloquet drops to 13-10 with the loss.
