LCA Survives Floodwood In Double Overtime

The Lakeview Christian Academy Lions hosted the Floodwood Polar Bears on Thursday night, escaping with a 87-78 victory in double overtime.

The Lions trailed the Polar Bears 38-33 at the half, but outscored Floodwood 37-32 in the second half to send it to overtime. In the first overtime, the two teams matched each other with 6 points each, but in the second overtime, the Lions took over and outscored the Polar Bears 11-2 to secure the win.

Jacob Easty led all scorers with 32 points for the Lions. Brandon BarBee and Spicer Johnson followed him with 15 points each. Also scoring was Lance Puffer with 13 points, Bennett Easty with seven points, Calvin Kallis and Andrew Wright with two each, and Syler Weller with one point.

In the loss, Jeffrey Palmer scored 23 points for Floodwood. Gavin Clark followed with 16 points, while Errol Palmer and Ethan Dehn scored 14 and 13 points respectively. Rounding out the scoring for the Polar Bears was Isaac Rohde with eight points and Blaine Dahl with four.

With the victory, LCA improves to 10-4 on the year. They will play again on January 19th against Legacy Christian.

Floodwood drops to 7-7 on the season and will look to snap their three game losing streak on January 18th when they play the Esko Eskomos.
