Hawks Fly Past Lumberjacks

The Hermantown Hawks hosted the Cloquet Lumberjacks on Thursday night, beating them for the second time this season, this time by a score of 81-64.

The Hawks dominated the first half, going into the locker rooms with a 45-18 lead. The Lumberjacks tried to climb back into the game by outscoring the Hawks 46-36 in the second half, but it wouldn’t be enough.

Connor Bich lead all scoreres with 24 points. Peter Soumis followed with 21 points. Also chipping in was Kaden Kucza with 9, Alex Bjorlin with 8, Tate Hanses scoring 7, Rico Rodriguez with 3, and Dalton Everett topping it off with 2.

In the loss for the Jacks, Adam Schneider had 18 points, followed by Nick Flynn and Marcus Pokornowski who scored 17 and 16 respectively. Alex Leuzzo scored 11 in the loss and Logan Gallup rounded out the scoring with 2 points.

With the win, the Hawks improve to 10-3 on the season. They will be back in action on January 12th when they face off with Anoka. The Lumberjacks fall to 8-7 on the year and will look to bounce back against Virginia on January 15th.
