The Cloquet Lumberjacks set up a divisional championship contest with Hermantown next Wednesday night in Cloquet as the Lumberjacks took down Duluth East Friday night with a 38 – 20 win at home.

It was Marcus Pokornowski’s four touchdowns that would seal the win for the Lumberjacks. Pokornowski scored the games first two touchdowns, which led to a early 14-0 lead after one quarter of play.Alex Leuzzo’s 29 yard touchdown reception would make it 22-0 before the Greyhounds would score their first touchdown of the game.

Colin Edwards scored on a 6 yard touchdown reception from Caden Edwards which cut the lead to 22-6. Porkornowski’s third touchdown of the contest made it 30-6 at that point in the third quarter.

Porkornowski added one more score as the third quarter ended with Cloquet in front 38-6. Duluth East added two late scores in the fourth quarter but the outcome had been long since decided.

The win moves Cloquet to 6-1 and sets up the meeting with Hermantown who is 7-0 Wednesday for the Northeast Red Divison on the line.
