The Carlton Bulldogs will look to regain the Section 7A crown for the first time since 2014. The Bulldogs finished with a 24-6 record last season, but fell in their third consecutive section finals. Carlton will return a majority of their roster from last season, as they opened the season up on August 28th, beating Deer River 3 sets to 1.

Also in 7A, the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels look to have another successful year, coming off a 15-10 season. The Rebels opened up their season with a win over Hinckley-Finnlayson.

In Section 7AA, the Hermantown Hawks will look return to the state tournament after falling in the semi-finals a year ago. The Hawks finished with a 20-9 record and opened their season up with a win over the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers.

Also in Section 7AA, the Esko Eskomos look to improve on their 13-14 record from last year. They will play the Cook County Vikings on August 30th.

In 7AAA, the Duluth East Greyhounds finish with a 11-12 record a year ago. They hope to improve on that this season, as they fell to the Cloquet Lumberjacks in their season opener.
