Football season is here as players have prepared for the past month for upcoming games.

The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels finished their season with a 7-6 record, winning the Section 7AA championship for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons. They will look to add another one to the trophy case this season as they open the year up against the Hermantown Hawks on August 30th.

The Barnum Bombers finished last season with a 7-3 record, falling to the MLWR Rebels in the Section 7AA playoffs. They will look for another successful year, as they open the year up on the road against Aitkin on August 30th.

In Section 7AAA, the Proctor Rails will look to repeat as Section champions after finishing 8-3 a year ago. They open up the season on August 30th in International Falls.

The Esko Eskomos finished 8-2 last year and will look for more success this season. The Eskomos open their season up on August 31st when they face their rivals, the Cloquet Lumberjacks.

Lastly in Section 7AAA, the Two Harbors Agates look to have another nice season after finishing 8-2. The Agates opened their season up on August 24th with a 28-14 victory over Crosby-Ironton. They will look to improve to 2-0 on August 30th when they host Duluth Denfeld.

In 7AAAA, the Cloquet Lumberjacks are coming off an incredibly successful season, where they went 12-1 and finished as Class AAAA runners-up after falling 14-0 in the championship game. The Lumberjacks will look to advance to the state tournament for the third consecutive season. They open the year up against the Esko Eskomos on August 31st.

Also in 7AAAA, the Hermantown Hawks look to improve on their 3-7 record from a season ago. They open the year up against the MLWR Rebels on August 30th.

Lastly in 7AAAA, the Duluth Denfeld Hunters hope to improve on a 1-8 record from last season. They open their season on August 30th against the Two Harbors Agates.

In 7AAAAA, the Duluth East Greyhounds went 5-4, which was their first winning season since 2008. They will look to make it two winning seasons in a row, opening their season up on August 30th against Big Lake.
