Carlton Advances To Semi-Finals

The Carlton Bulldogs entered the playoffs as a sixth seed, but that hasn’t stopped them from making a playoff run, as they are in the Section 7A semi-finals.

Carlton opened the playoffs up with a 5-2 victory over the third seeded Cook County Vikings.

Kaden Crane received the win, throwing a complete game, allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out seven batters. Crane also helped his cause offensively, notching two hits and two runs batted in.

The Bulldogs followed their first round win up with a 13-1 victory over the second seeded Wrenshall Wrens.

The Bulldogs were led by Kristian Herman on the mound, who tossed a complete game, allowing zero earned runs on three hits. Offensively, Tanner Anderson drove in three runs, while Crane drove in two.

Carlton then secured their spot in the semi-finals on Thursday night, with a 10-5 victory over the top seeded Ely Timberwolves.

The Bulldogs got another nice performance on the mound out of Ryan Gray, who threw a complete game, allowing two earned runs on seven hits. Gray struck out eight batters, while walking just one in the win.

Offensively, Jackson Mickle went 3×4 with a double and two runs batted in, while Tanner Anderson drove in two runs on a double.

Carlton is now 10-11 on the season and will face the South Ridge Panthers (16-4) on Tuesday, June 5th with first pitch at 4:30pm.
