Lumberjacks Win Seventh Straight

The Cloquet Lumberjacks continued their hot stretch on Saturday afternoon when they traveled to play North Branch. The Jacks came away with the 7-0 victory over the Vikings, extending their winning streak to seven.

Jon Baker got the win for the Lumberjacks, throwing six innings, allowing four hits, while striking out ten batters. The offense was propelled by Markus Pokornowski, who went 2×4 with two runs batted in. Also helping at the plate was Cooper Grashorn, who went 3×5 with a double and RBI and Tim Pokornowski who went 2×4 with a double and RBI.

With the win, the Lumberjacks improve to 10-3 on the year. They will look to extend their winning streak to eight games when they travel to Grand Rapids on May 15th.

The Vikings drop to 6-6 on the year.
