Bulldogs Begin Season 2-0

The Carlton Bulldogs have kicked off their baseball season with a 2-0 record, outscoring their opponents 50-4 in two games.

The Bulldogs started the season with a 23-0 victory over the McGregor Mercuries, followed by a 27-4 win over the Floodwood Polar Bears.

Against the Mercs, Kaden Crane got the win, pitching two innings, surrendering one hit, while striking out six batters. The Bulldogs notched 15 hits and 16 RBI’s in the victory.

Leif Herman got the victory over the Floodwood Polar Bears, pitching two innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits, while striking out three batters. Continuing their hot hitting, the Bulldogs tallied 26 hits and 23 RBI’s against the Mercs.

Through two games, senior Jackson Mickle has went 6-7 with five RBI’s, two doubles, and one home run. Also off to fast starts is sophomore, Kaden Crane, who has went 4-7 with 10 RBI’s, and a home run.

The Bulldogs (2-0) will be back in action against the Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans (2-1) on April 30th, followed by the Wrenshall Wrens (1-0) on May 1st.
