Lumberjacks Season Comes To An End

The Cloquet Lumberjacks season came to an end on Tuesday night, falling to the Hibbing Bluejackets, 48-44, in the Section 7AAA Quarterfinals.

The Lumberjacks held a 22-19 lead at the half, but the Bluejackets would outscore Cloquet, 29-22, in the second half to steal the victory.

Abbey McDonald led the way for the Bluejackets with 18 points. She was followed by Kourtney Manning and McKenzie Maki, who scored 12 and 10 points respectively. Rounding out the scoring for Hibbing was Haley Hawkinson with 5 points and Jacie Clusiau with 3 points.

In the loss for Cloquet, Carmen Foss notched a game high 19 points. Vanna Kelley chipped in 12 points, while Allie Wojtysiak scored 7, Kendra Kelley scored 4, and Kate Owens chipped in 2.

The Lumberjacks end their season with a 17-10 record. The Bluejackets (19-8) will advance to the Section 7AAA Semifinals, where they will meet the Grand Rapids Thunderhawks (19-7) on March 3rd. The game time is still TBA.
