Cromwell Squeaks Past Floodwood

On Thursday night, the Cromwell Cardinals edged the Floodwood Polar Bears, 48-45, behind 22 points from Teana Hakamaki.

The Cardinals held a 29-21 advantage at the half. The Polar Bears came out firing in the second half, outscoring the Cardinals 24-19, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Cardinals held onto the three point victory.

In addition to T. Hakamaki’s 22 points, Shaily Hakamaki scored 16 points, Liz Risacher added 6 points, and Amber Lehti topped it off with 4 points.

In the loss for Floodwood, Alexis Stokke and Imijyn Thompson scored 13 points and 11 points, respectively. Also scoring was Mikayla Koivisto with 7 points, Ryann Koivisto with 6 points, and Kennedi Johnson and Tamera Lundstrom each adding 4 points.

With the win, the Cardinals improve to 14-6. They will look to extend their four game winning streak on February 12th when they host the Cook County Vikings (7-9). The Polar Bears fall to 17-5 on the season and will look to get back on track on February 12th when they host the East Central Eagles (14-6).
