Cloquet Falls To Superior

The Cloquet Lumberjacks and Superior Spartans faced off on Friday night, with the Spartans edging the Lumberjacks, 61-58.

The Spartans held a slight 26-23 advantage over the Lumberjacks at the half. Both teams would score 35 points each in the second half, securing the victory for Superior.

Mason Ackley and Ben Rhodes propelled the Spartans with 18 points each. Xavier Patterson also scored in double digits with 12 points. Topping the scoring off for the Spartans was Kaleb Zentkowski with 6 points, Cam Borgh with 4 points, and Stephen Gee with 3 points.

Tim Pokornowski and Bryce Turnbull led the Lumberjacks in the loss with 19 points and 18 points respectively. Also scoring was Spencer Wehr and Riley Johnson each with 6 points, Mitchell Gerlach with 5 points, and Aahsan Maigag and Dasan Fanoti each with 2 points.

With the win, the Spartans improve to 6-9 on the year. They will face off with the Proctor Rails on January 30th. The Lumberjacks drop to 9-7 on the season and will look to bounce back against the Moose Lake Willow River Rebels on January 30th.
