Bulldogs Host Coaches vs. Cancer Event

The Carlton Bulldogs hosted a Coaches vs. Cancer event for the second consecutive season, this time against the South Ridge Panthers. It was also a brother vs. brother matchup, as coach Jeswa Harris and his Carlton Bulldogs got the best of his older brother, coach Joaquim Harris and his South Ridge Panthers, 85-73.

Matthew Hey send the Bulldogs into the half on a positive note, nailing a deep three pointer at the buzzer to give Carlton the 49-35 advantage. The Bulldogs would continue where they left off, edging the Panthers 36-35 in the second half to secure their fourth consecutive win.

The Bulldogs used a balanced attack to secure the win, led by Matthew Hey with 20 points. Ben Soderstrom followed with 18 points, Jacob Santkuyl added 14 points, Jackson Mickle scored 12 points, and Chase Parker chipping in 10 points. Also scoring was Matthew Santkuyl with 7 and Mateo Garcia Agui and Miles Bennett each with 2 points.

In the loss for the Panthers, Nick Carlson scored a game high 34 points. Nick Larson also scored in double digits, adding 11 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Panthers was Tristin Paulson with 9 points, Jayton Nelson scoring 6 points, Ben Wood adding 5, Kaden Palmi chipping in 4, and Brant Erikson and Logan Young rounding it out with 2 each.

With the victory, the Bulldogs improve to 9-7 on the year. The Bulldogs will be back in action on February 1st when they travel to face the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers (2-11). The Panthers fall to 6-9 on the season and will look to bounce back on January 30th when they host the Cromwell Cardinals (9-6).
