Balanced Attack Propels Bulldogs

The Carlton Bulldogs notched their first win of the season on Tuesday night, topping the East Central Eagles, 79-65.

The Bulldogs held a 38-19 lead at the half. The Eagles went on to outscore the Bulldogs 46-41 in the 2nd half, but the Bulldogs held on to secure their first win of the year.

Propelling the Bulldogs was a balanced attack, led by Ben Soderstrom, who tallied 27 points. Following Soderstrom was Matthew Hey with 14 points, Jackson Mickle with 12, and Jacob Santkuyl with 11. Also chipping in was Mateo Garcia with 6 points, Chase Parker tallying 4 points, and Leif Herman and Scott Rousseau adding 3 and 2 points respectively.

Gunnar Fogt led the Eagles in the loss with 19 points, while Jace Schutt chipped in 18 points.

With the win, the Bulldogs are 1-1 on the early season. They will be back in action on Friday, December 8th when they face off against their crosstown rivals, the Wrenshall Wrens. The Eagles drop to 0-1 on the season.
