Rebels Fall To Pine City At Home

The Pine City Dragons traveled to Moose Lake-Willow River and snuck out an 18-7 victory over the Rebels Friday night.

After the Rebels scored a touchdown to tie the game 7-7, Pine City took over, scoring two touchdowns to eventually pull away.

The Dragons were led by senior running back Jake Lunceford, who rushed for 144 yards on 23 carries.

Lunceford also contributed heavily on the defensive side of the ball, where he returned an interception 38 yards for the touchdown, which was one of the scores that ended up being the deciding factor, along with a 1-yard touchdown rush by Isaiah Gonyea.

Pine City advances to 2-5 on the season and will travel to face off with Crosby-Ironton Wednesday night.

Moose Lake-Willow River drops to 2-5 this season, with a Wednesday night away game against Aitkin looming on the schedule.
