Carlton Opens Season With Shutout

The Carlton Bulldogs opened up their 2017 season with a 28-0 shutout over the Littlefork-Big Falls Vikings.

The Bulldogs started the game off with a 25 yard pass from Kaden Crane to Ben Soderstrom to take an early 8-0 advantage. Austin Parker would score in the 2nd quarter from three yards out, sending the Bulldogs into the half with a 14-0 lead.

Coming out of the half, Crane would throw for his second touchdown of the game, this time finding Jake Santkuyl on a 17 yard connection, increasing the Bulldogs lead to 20-0. The Bulldogs would cap the game off with a four yard plunge from Austin Parker, making it a 28-0 final.

The Bulldogs, who had their last victory in 2015, are 1-0 on the young season. They will be back in action on September 8th when they play their crosstown rivals, the Wrenshall Wrens, (1-0) in Wrenshall. Littlefork-Big Falls drops to 0-1 on the year.
