The Lumberjacks Tim Porkornowski threw three touchdown passes, and Aahsan Maigag scored three rushing touchdowns as the Lumberjacks knocked off the Esko Eskomos in the season football opener 55-20 at Rol Bromberg field in Cloquet.

The Lumberjacks piled up 537 yards of total offense while holding the Eskomos to 285 yards of total offense.

Porkornowski finished 15-22 passing for 178 yards. He connected with three different receivers including Mitchell Gerlach, Tyler Moose, and Josh Bushey.

Maigag rushed for 124 yards and his touchdown runs came form 29, 27, and 6 yards. Gerlach added a 17 yard touchdown run to go along with his touchdown reception.

Esko’s quarterback Brendan Durand threw two touchdown passes, one to Quinn Fischer and the other to Branden Matten who also scored on a 83 yard kickoff return for the Eskomos.
