Section 7A Boys Basketball Semi-Finals Preview

The Section 7A boys basketball semi-finals will take place on March 14th at UMD. The Final Four teams remaining are the Carlton Bulldogs, the Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers, Lakeview Christian Academy Lions, and the North Woods Grizzlies.

The Bulldogs advanced to the semi-finals after defeating the Fond du Lac Ojibwe Ogichida, 74-50. The Bulldogs, who are now 23-5 on the season, will face off with the MIB Rangers at 5:45pm. The Rangers advanced to the semi-finals after beating the Deer River Warriors, 70-58 to improve to 24-4 on the year.

In the night cap, the North Woods Grizzlies and LCA Lions will battle for their spot in the Section finals. The Grizzlies improved to 27-1 on the year after toppling the Chisholm Bluestreaks, 73-48. The Lions advanced after a defensive battle with the Silver Bay Mariners. The Lions edged the Mariners, 39-35 to move to 17-11 on the year. This game will tipoff at approximately 7:15pm.

The winners of both games will play for the Section 7A Championship on Friday, March 17th with a tipoff of 7pm at UMD.
